"People to Watch in 2023": Honored to be Featured by TAPinto New Brunswick

I’m honored to be named one of TAPinto New Brunswick’s People to Watch in 2023! In a recent article by Chuck O'Donnell, TAPinto highlights some of the most exciting moments from my journey as an artist in New Brunswick, NJ. The piece covers everything from my community street murals to my passion for using art as a way to inspire others—especially those who have never painted before.

In the article, Chuck recounts one of my favorite memories from last year—a moment when a local resident picked up a brush for the first time while I was working on a street mural at the intersection of Remsen Avenue and Suydam Street. By the end of the day, he was hooked, saying, "I think I want to go home and start doing this as a hobby because I just had a great time."

This interaction captures the essence of what I aim to do with my public art: make creativity accessible and bring joy through community participation.

TAPinto New Brunswick: A Hub for Community Impact

The TAPinto New Brunswick article also highlights the partnerships I’ve built with organizations like coLAB Arts, the New Brunswick Performing Arts Center, and the City of New Brunswick. These collaborations have opened doors for impactful mural projects, like the ones celebrating Juneteenth and First Responders Day, and have provided an opportunity to engage the community through art.

What’s Ahead in 2023

2023 is already shaping up to be a busy and exciting year! Some highlights to look forward to:

  • Hispanic Heritage Month Collaboration with Bronx Brewery: I’ll be designing a limited-edition beer can that will be released in September.

  • Puerto Rican History Exhibition: This June, I’ll be showcasing a new body of work that delves into Puerto Rican history and heritage.

  • Street Murals: Keep an eye out for more public art installations throughout the city—whether it’s on Livingston Avenue or Suydam Street, I’m ready to bring more art to the streets of New Brunswick.
